The consultant will act as coordinator and facilitator of working groups associated with the Regional Plan of Action eLAC2007 and for other activities of the Information Society Programme (SocInfo) of ECLAC´s Division of Production, Productivity and Management, working at ECLAC’s head office in Santiago de Chile. \n\nThe SocInfo Programme of ECLAC is\nassisting governments of Latin America and the Caribbean in the implementation\nof the eLAC2007 Plan of Action (http://www.cepal.org/SocInfo/eLAC\n). eLAC2007 foresees the creation of several Working Groups. As part of\ntheir services of technical assistance to governments in this context,\nECLAC is using an ASP based virtual platform through which it offers eLAC\nworking groups a shared working space (http://www.eLAC2007.info\n). The working groups of eLAC are currently being launched. \nThe tasks of the consultant include:\n· coordinate\nthe communication processes of groups (e.g. maintain close working relationships\nwith participants, assist those countries which are coordinating the respective\ngroups, guarantee transparency of the process and a free flow of information).\n· provide\nmethodological assistance to working groups, based on facilitation practices\nand proven methods for virtual group collaboration and project work (e.g.\nanalysis of virtual discussions, moderation or mediation techniques, generation\nof opinion surveys, development of argument maps, etc)\n· provide\nassistance in technical issues of virtual collaboration (e.g. act as the\nfocal point for cooperation with the ASP provider company GroupmindExpress,\nassure collaboration with ECLAC computation Unit and web administrator,\nassuring operability of the virtual working space, providing technical\nassistance and training in usage to participants).
